April started her yoga journey as a young child, imitating her father, a yoga instructor, as he practiced hatha yoga in their living room home. She has been passionately practicing yoga since then, continuing throughout her three pregnancies, as well as alongside her children. April attained her 200 ryt in Sarasota at Yoga from the Heart in 2017. In the 20 years she has been teaching, she is experienced with both children and adults students, including those with special needs. Along with her yoga practice, April is a 4th degree black belt in traditional Japanese karate. She is a long time Qigong and Tai Chi Chuan practitioner. April’s focus is alignment based yoga, continuing the path of yoga founded in everyday practice, intuition and intentions, self-awareness, self-acceptance, and connecting the mind, body and spirit through postures, breath and meditation.
Among her many passions, she is a songwriter and musician, an avid traveler, environmentalist, bookworm and writer, an herbal medicine enthusiast, and loves to cook. She and her husband have two children, ages ten and six, as well as one joining the family summer 2018.
