Standing Straddle Forward Bend

Prasarita Padottanasana ~ Feet are 3 or 4 feet apart and parallel to each other. Place hands on hips and with a straight back, lower down toward the ground. Ground down by pressing the outer edges of your feet on the ground and lift the thigh muscles. As your torso reaches the floor, drop your hands below your shoulders and extend elbows away from each other. This pose is not for anyone with lower back pain. Therapeutic benefits of this pose include relief for headaches, fatigue and depression. This pose strengthens the legs and tones belly muscles. It is a very calming pose so it is great if you are feeling anxious.
