Adho Mukha Svanasana ~ Downward facing dog is one of the traditional Sun Salutation sequence asanas (poses) which is a mild inversion that builds strength and flexibility in the entire body. This is a great exercise for the shoulders, spine and legs. To do this pose, the hands should be shoulder width apart and the fingers should be spread apart to distribute the body weight throughout the hand. The main benefits of this pose are to strengthen the hands, wrists, lower-back, hamstrings, calves and Achilles tendon. It also helps lessen the effects of anxiety & depression and increases circulation.
