Looking back at 2017 we are most grateful to our yoga family, practitioners, instructors and tribe that call Pineapple Yoga Studio home. Our mission this year is to continue to offer you, your families and loved ones a place where you feel safe to find the deepest kind of transformation and change for optimal wellness and wellbeing.

2017 was an amazing year for our studio! Sarasota Magazine named us Best New Yoga Studio in Sarasota and we are working hard to earn this accolade for another year. The studio and its teachers take care to offer yoga to every body that seeks the healing practice in their lives no matter what challenges they face. Our studio’s mission is to serve and with that  core value, we seek to open our studio doors to those that have not had a yoga studio to call home.

In 2018 we begin the year with two new classes/workshops and a continued program serving juveniles in detention that focus on positive change. Adaptive Yoga 4 All is a yoga class for those with or without a mental or physical disability and/or partial paralysis or visual impairment and their friends/caretakers. It’s available to anyone that wants to enjoy an inclusive and compassionate environment for movement and yoga starting on January 16th, Tuesdays 2-3:15. The cost of the class is discounted so that anyone can participate. Yoga for Sobriety and/or Moderation teaches tools the yogi can take off the mat to help with alcohol and addictions that have been hard to control. These Workshops focus on positive and scientifically proven tools that the yogi can implement immediately into daily life.  Finally, we continue our dedication to Juveniles in Detention this year in Bradenton with free yoga as a modality for introspection and behavior control. The studio offers yoga to juveniles twice per month as a tool to help with awareness and mindfulness. Our Teacher Training program will support these efforts with our future teachers assisting in the running of these programs.

In 2017, Pineapple Yoga Studio launched its teacher training program with the RYT200 (200 hour Registered Teacher Training) to certify yoga instructors in the practice of yoga. Our program has become well known in the area for attention to detail, focus on anatomy, physiology and the safe practice of yoga for multiple populations, especially those underserved by yoga. Our program will be expanded in 2018 to include RYT300 and RYT500 in collaboration with a local studio, bringing the best yoga instruction to SWFL.

In October we will be hosting our first International Yoga Retreat in Tulum MX. More information is forthcoming as final details are being firmed up in January. The projected dates are Oct 20-27th 2018. This 7 day retreat will offer meditation, morning and afternoon yoga in a tropical paradise, optional excursions to Mayan Ruins and much more. Stay tuned for more information.

I personally begin 2018 with such gratitude. SRQ Magazine has nominated me (Claudia) as Localtrepreneur of the Year and I take this nomination to heart. In the year to come, I hope to welcome even more yogis to the practice of yoga with the hope that they can change their lives like I have with daily yoga practice.

We are so proud of what we have created and we wanted to thank you, our yogis who practice with us every week and make our work worth while. Thank you so very much.

Claudia Baeza, teachers, training staff and family.
